On the 12th December 2011, the APEC Symposium was hosted in St. Petersburg oto define the priorities of the Russian 2012 APEC presidency. The event was initiated by a performance of St. Petersburg Governor George Poltavchenko. The discussion of the innovation policy in the Asia-Pacific region was one of the main themes of the symposium. During the panel discussion, presentations were made by the Director of Directorate for Science, Technology and Industry of the International Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Vikofa Andrew; the rector of the Far Eastern Federal University, Vladimir Miklushevsky; and the High Representative of Japan at APEC, Kenji Goto. Currently the Skolkovo Foundation continues dialogue on the terms of cooperation with the Business Advisory Council (ABAC), as well as promoting Skolkovo initiatives at APEC. The question of cooperation with high-tech companies from the Pacific, as key partners of the Skolkovo Foundation will be addressed simultaneously with the APEC national business centre.
